"Big Sur" novel by Jack Kerouac

My favorite passages from “Big Sur’

I love Jack Kerouac's first impressions of Big Sur. No other writer has captured the duality of this place—its lightness and darkness—so perfectly.

A meditation for your Thursday: Who needs to be reminded of this from time to time? I for sure do. A co-worker shared this saying with me a couple of weeks ago. I wrote it down and stuck it on the wall near my desk. Thinking this one needs to go on a print 😍
Any day that starts off with Raymond Carver is a good day. 💌 With Valentine’s around the corner, this one has been popular. 😍
Did you know that the super popular quote, “We were together — I forget the rest,” is actually a paraphrase of the original, and not actually Walt Whitman’s words? Sorry to burst the bubble, but my inner English major nerd couldn’t handle it. 😅 The real quote is from Whitman’s poem, “Once I pass’d through a populous city,” and the lines read: “Day by day and night by night we were together — all else has long been forgotten by me.” I still think it’s just as romantic. 😘 Just added this batch to my Etsy shop in time for #valentines day ❤️
Mary Oliver, you are the gift that keeps on giving. 🪶❤️ Just sent these custom prints to my first repeat Etsy customer! ✨This line is from one of Mary Oliver’s poems, “Wild Geese.”
Was feeling homesick for Cambria and Big Sur and the Central Coast, so I bedazzled my typewriter case with stickers and I FEEL BETTER NOW. 😍
One of my favorite Raymond Carver prints is off to a new home in Illinois 🪶 Guess I’ll have to make some more! 😍 #hummingbird #poem
